Dr. Fengxiang X. Han has received his Ph.D. in Soil and Water Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel during the period of 1992-1997. Currently, he is working as Associate Research Professor in the Institute for Clean Energy Technology, Mississippi State University. He is serving as an editorial board member of several reputed journals such as Water Air and Soil Pollution and Soil and Sediment Contamination. He has authored one book and more than 60 refereed journal articles/book chapters. He is a member of Soil Science Society of America American Agronomy Society.

A passionate urge to learn and deep desire to be part of scientific research world and the prospect of being in the forefront of knowledge and contribute to it as prompted me to take up a career in research. One among my long-term desires is to excel as a good researcher and academician.

At present working on “Development and functional estimation of new thiacalix[n]arenes based extractants for base-metals/rare-metals recovery from automotive catalyst residues” Developed novel synthetic routes for the synthesis of lower and upper rim substituted thiacalix[n]arenes via SNAr reactions/Mannich reaction and characterized them by the combined use of NMR and single crystal X-ray techniques.

Young-Cheol Chang has received his PhD and Post-doc from Gifu University. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor in Muroran Institute of Technology. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Research Associate at University of Central Florida, USA from December, 2000 to November, 2003. He has authored two books.

Young-Cheol Chang research interests includes Microbial removal of pollutant (Petroleum, heavy oil, inorganic chlorinated compounds; PCE, PCBs) in environment bioremediation of heavy metals, development and separation of the effective microorganism. Purification of enzymes related to the PCE dehalogenase and PCBs-degrading bacteria. Biological treatment of CCA from wood wastes.

Dr. Kirill Kostyanovsky earned his M.S. in Soil Science and Geography from Moscow State University in 2004 and his Ph.D. in Soil and Environmental Chemistry from Virginia Tech in 2009. Currently, he works as a Research Associate in Texas A&M System Research and Extension Center in Beaumont, TX. His research focus is on heavy metal chemistry and carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus cycling in mined land reclamation sites. His research emphasizes nutrient and pollutant transport in groundwater, runoff, and greenhouse gas emissions at the sites amended with sewage sludge.

Availability, transport, and effects of nutrients, organic matter, heavy metals, and endocrine disruptors in municipal, industrial, and agricultural residuals on water quality, soil properties, and plant growth; greenhouse gas emissions and global climate change; waste recycling and utilization for bioenergy and production of biofuels; restoration of lands disturbed by mining, road building, waste disposal, and erosion.

Vincenzo Naddeo, is assistant professor at Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Division (SEED) of the Department of Civil Engineering (DICIV) of Salerno University.?He was a visiting professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering & Science Program, University of Washington, WA USA, (2009). He has received a PhD in Civil Environmental Engineering from the Salerno University, SA Italy, (11/2002 - 04/2005). He has completed his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering - Hydraulic sector - at University of Salerno (09/1996 - 05/2002).?He is expert of the European Union from 2007 in the seventh Framework Programme for Research (FP7). Since 2006 he is the secretary of the Ph.D school in Civil Environmental Engineering at University of Salerno. He is the responsible of n. 5 Erasmus agreements and 4 research project. He was visiting scientist at different foreign research institution where he collaborated with high-ranking professor, the main institution are: (i) Indian Istitute of Technology (IIT) of Dheli (India); (ii) University of Mumbai (India); (iii) University of Cairo (Egypt); (iv) National Research Center (Egypt); (v) Engineering Faculty at CUJAE (Cuba).?He is author of over 50 papers in international journals, congress proceedings and books; he have 3 patents on water and wastewater treatments by sonolisys. He is member of the International Water Association (IWA) and the Italian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Professors

At present he is working on: conventional and innovative AOPs water treatment process for disinfection, NOM removal, DBPs control and emerging contaminants removal; application of ultrasound process in water and wastewater treatments; implementation of the EU water framework directive 2000/60; odours impact assessment.

Prof/Dr Xinghui Xia has received her PhD in Peking University during the period of 1995 to 1998. Currently, she is working as a professor in School of Environment, Beijing Normal University. Her research field includes water and soil pollution, fate and behavior of pollutants in environment, and biodegradation and bioavailability of organic pollutants. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed research articles. She is the member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, and the member of the Environmental and Chemical Geography Committee, the Geographical Society of China. She has been the recipient of many excellence awards including the honor of Young Scientist by Chinese Society of Environmental Science, the Scientific Progress Award (First Class Award) by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China, and the National Scientific Progress Award (Second Class Award) by the Ministry of Science and Technology of People’s Republic of China.

Osman Nuri Ağdağ is an associate professor of environmental engineering. He has received his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey, in 2004. Currently, He is working in Environmental Engineering Department in Pamukkale University, Turkey, as faculty member. He is serving as a reviewer of more than 10 reputed journals such as Waste Management and Journal of Hazardous Materials. He is a member of Turkish National Committee on Solid Wastes.

Gabriela Ionescu graduated the Environmental Engineering Department, Faculty of Power Engineering, at University Politehnica of Bucharest. In 2012, she has received her Ph.D in co-tutela between University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania and University of Trento, Italy on Municipal Solid Waste valorization. At the moment she is working at different research projects, has a research fellowship position at University of Trento and she is an assistant lecturer at University Politehnica of Bucharest.
